1/31 Weigh In Week 22

Loss for the week: .2 lbs.

Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:170.8 lbs.
Total loss to date: 37.6 lbs.

Glad to see a tiny loss despite going off my diet. I tried to keep up with my workouts but I did miss 3 days in a row due to a trip I went on. Friday, I flew down to a friend who was moving and drove back home with her (10 hrs.) on Saturday. Then Sunday was spent sleeping in and napping, so basically recovery from the whirlwind journey. It felt great to workout again this morning. I wonder if I'll see a tiny loss again next week.

Gonna Have to Sit This One Out

I'm still struggling with the eating part of this diet. I decided to look back at my previous weight loss numbers and realized that once I hit the 160's I took a break of almost 4 weeks before I really started back up again. I think this break gave my body a chance to adjust to the new weight and then when I picked back up again it was ready to lose more. So since for some reason it's been really hard to stick to my diet, I'm just going to give myself a break for the next 3 weeks. I will continue with all my workouts, but just not concentrate on my calorie counting. You know how when you're told you can't have something then you really want that thing more than anything. Well I think feeling "restricted" for this long has started to get to me and it's consuming me. (I'm also gonna try and blame it on hormones, LOL, I'm in the losing the hair phase after having a baby so I'm sure my hormones are a little whack trying to get back to normal) Once I can stop thinking about food so much, then I'll be ready to go again. I'll still weigh in and report on that but for now I must take a break on calorie counting. I think I'll still try to stick to my morning routine of oatmeal, protein bar & banana since I want to give myself the energy I need for my workout. I'll be curious to see how well I can maintain weight eating normal but working out like I do.

1/24 Weigh In Week 21

Loss for the week: +1.2 lbs.

Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:171.0 lbs.
Total loss to date: 37.4 lbs.

What can I say, I feel off the wagon Fri., Sat. & Sun. I was in a bit of a slump and I also didn't work out those days. I think that was the biggest hit-not working out. Oh, well. You're gonna have ups and downs along the way and this was a down. Hopefully next week Mon. I'll be back in the 160s. The scale was taunting me pretty bad too. After Monday's weigh in, I weighed the exact same on Tues. Wed, & Thurs. with no budging at all from the scale. That was a bit frustrating as I usually always see a change on the days following the weigh in. Not sure if my body was just plain refusing to lose any more weight. My body, stubborn-no way! :P

1/17 Weigh In Week 20

Loss for the week: 3.4 lbs.

Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:169.8 lbs.
Total loss to date: 38.6 lbs.

YES! I said goodbye to the 170's! I was working hard all week hoping I'd get there in time for today's weigh in. I wasn't quite sure if I'd make it but it feels good to be there. Today has been such a busy morning. About 15 min. before I left to go workout I got an e-mail saying they needed someone to fill in at work so I agreed. I did my cycle class, worked for 2 hrs., took the kids home and fed and down for naps, now I'm getting lasagna in the slow cooker. I've still gotta pick up the house a little, get in a shower, and shovel the snow that is currently falling. I normally would have did 20 min. on the ellipital and a 25 min. run after my cycle class but since last min. I had to work that got scrapped. I could make up for that by doing a workout video but since I have so many other balls I'm juggling it's not gonna happen. You can't do it all, right! By the way things are going, I think I may only have 10 weeks(give or take) until I reach my goal of 140!!!! 10 weeks doesn't sound too bad

In A Groove

I crave routines! Once I find something I like I stick with it. I think I do this in all aspects. If I'm shopping and find a shirt that I like, I'll buy it in 5 colors. It's not that I don't like variety, I'm just more of a simple girl. I'm a basic, run of the mill, meat and potatoes kind of girl. No need for anything too fancy. This is very evident in my eating patterns(ei. the doughnuts of last week). Today will be the third day in a row that I will have eaten almost the same exact menu. It works for me because then there is less thinking involved. I already took the time to plan it all out. I enjoyed it and it filled me up enough.
I have oatmeal for breakfast every single day. I think I will even when I'm done dieting(the Quaker boxes are on sale and with coupons on double coupon day, I'll be getting 23 boxes for $10, LOL) . It's pretty tasty(I love the Apple Cinnamon flavor) , it's a great way to start off the day and it gives me energy. This week I've been on a soup kick for lunch. I bought one of those Bear Creek pouches(on sale) and made a big batch of Creamy Potato soup. It was yummy! I love this option because then if I feel like a little change I can always add a few things to the soup like cheese or a little sprinkle of bacon bits. For dinners I've been having shredded chicken(cooked in the slow cooker with a little gravy) and rice. Rice is an awesome food! I can have 1 cup of it for about 200 cal. and by adding lots of veggies , a little chicken or shrimp I've got a full bowl of yummy goodness for a decent amount of calories.
So for now, I'll enjoy my routine of food! I just had my apple for a snack but now that I've been talking about my chicken & rice, I can't wait for dinner :P

1/10 Weigh In Week 19

Loss for the week: 2.6 lbs.

Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:173.2 lbs.
Total loss to date: 35.2 lbs.

Wohoo!!! I'm feeling newly motivated today! I was somewhat dreading this weigh in because I had been eating terribly lately! I think I fell off the wagon on Thurs. with doughnuts and I continued with more doughnuts on Sat. & Sun. Ugh, I think I seriously ate about 10 doughnuts(yeah I'm a bit of a pig, hee hee). I'm kicking myself a little because if I lost 2.6 lbs. eating the way I did, imagine what big number I could have pulled out! Oh well, there's always next week. And 2.6 lbs. is still pretty exciting in my book. I've lost all my baby weight from baby number 4(I started out at 174) and I'm halfway to my goal of 140.

I haven't talked about what I'm eating lately. This is my plan for today:
Breakfast-
Oatmeal 160 cal.
1/2 protein bar(Pure Protein Choc. Deluxe, yum!) 90
Snack-
banana 100
Lunch-
Smoothie 200 (this is so delicous, i used blueberry yogurt, frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, 1/2 a banana and a little bit of juice but not too much this was a thick smoothie)
Cup of potato soup with sprinkle of cheese 200
Fresh Carrots and Sugar Snap peas 60
Snack-
Apple 80
Dinner-
Breaded Chicken breast & Noodles(Rice A Roni garlic & butter) 600

I still have 360 calories to play with so I'm not sure what else I'll have. I usually sit down in the morning and make a rough plan of eating. Then I'll have my extra calories to play with and decide how hungry I am after dinner and see if I need to add something more substantial or splurge on something yummy!

Today's workout consisted of: 45 min. cycling class, 20 min. elliptical, 25 min. run

I can't wait for next week!! I'm getting close to leaving the 170's, who knows, maybe if I really kick my butt into gear and stick with my calories I can pull it off by next weigh in!

1/3 Weigh In Week 18

Loss for the week: 1 lbs.

Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:175.8 lbs.
Total loss to date: 32.6 lbs.

Happy New Year! I'm ready to get back to the diet now after the holidays. Glad that I've pretty much stayed the same over this two week break. Good to know that if I just keep up with up my current exercise routine when I'm done losing weight that I can pretty much eat how I want. I'm hoping for some big numbers next week and in the following weeks. My husband came along with me to a few of my classes last week(since he was off) and he enjoyed them. He was very proud of how hard I'm working (and even asked less than halfway into the cycling class if we were halfway done ;) ) I'm looking forward to getting back into a normal routine for life. It's been a little crazy with the holidays. Here's to reaching my goal in 2011 (I'm almost halfway there)!!!
