Loss for the week: 3 lbs.
Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:194.0 lbs.
Total loss to date: 14.4 lbs.
I can't believe I'm still pulling some big numbers. I thought for sure this week I'd slow down. I'm psyched! I'm very motivated to keep on moving this week!!! Hopefully in two weeks or so I'll be out of the 190's and into the 180's. I love saying good bye to those weight levels! I can't believe I lost almost 14.5 lbs. in my first month, wohoo!!! Still have a long way to go but I'm chipping off bit by bit.

9/20 Weigh In Week 3
Loss for the week: 2.8 lbs.
Starting weight: 208.4 lbs
Current weight:197.0 lbs.
Total loss to date: 11.4 lbs.
Glad to see the pounds are still coming off at a good rate! I've been struggling this week with keeping it up. I have still stuck to my 60 min. each day and my 1850 cal. but it's just been hard to do. I still feel so far away from my goal and even just far away from being a point where I feel I look okay in my clothes. I'm pretty sure I'm losing some of the fat around my side/love handle area so that it good that I can feel the change but the front stomach area still has a long way to go. I tell ya, what we go through to have babies! My body will never be the same even after losing all this weight. I just started a different workout video this week so that will be a nice change of pace. I did the Erin O'Brien's Prenatal Fitness Fix(40 min. video) and 20 min. on the elliptical. Even though some of my workout dvds are for pregnant people, the workouts are still really good especially since it's been about 7 weeks since I had the baby so I'm still trying to ease my way into things. I'm still dreading starting Jillian's workouts on the 30 Day Shred. Maybe in a few more weeks I'll start that but for now I'm good, hee hee.

Late Night Workout
It's 10:15 pm and here I sit with wet hair after just getting out of the shower. I put my workout off until late tonight. I was very busy during the day and decided to get other things done around the house and then I had a baby shower to go to so it wasn't until 8:30 that I had time to get my hour in. I was dreading it. I was dragging my feet the whole way but I knew I'd have to tell everyone that I missed a day if I didn't do it. I've just been getting sick of my workout but I'm not yet ready to add something new. Maybe next week. And my body aches! My ankles hurt, feet, lower back, hips, the list goes on. Sorry, I just feel like whining a little bit tonight. I'll get over it and continue with my journey. We can't always be sunny and cheery about everything all the time. I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can walk for my exercise. That is so much easier than kickboxing, jumping jacks, push ups, elliptical! Gotta nurse the babe and then I'm off to bed.

Honesty
So I came across another weight loss blog(that I found off a friend's blog) and I enjoyed finding someone else who is on this same journey. One thing I noticed was that she was completely upfront and honest with her weight. She posted her actual starting weight. I had planned on maybe someday sharing those numbers like say when I finished my goal. I'm not sure why I decided to hide that information. I know I love to hear the starting weight and ending weight because it helps me to relate better whenever I read those stories in my Shape magazine. If I see someone that started out at a weight close to mine I can see myself in her story and translate her happy ending to mine as well. I think I will go back and put in all my starting weight info. because really they are just numbers anyway (and they are going down with each and every day!).

9/13 Weigh In Week 2
Loss for the week: 5.2 lbs.
Starting weight: 208.4
Current weight: 199.8
Total loss to date: 8.6 lbs.
This has been a good week!!! I'm sure I can't keep pulling out these big numbers but it's a good start to have already lost 8.6 lbs. in the first two weeks. Now only 59.4 more to go!
Today I really didn't feel like cranking out my workout since it was a hectic day. I took all 4 kids to the zoo (with my mom's help) but then on the way home we got stuck in traffic because the freeway went down to 1 lane for awhile. Luckily the baby was still sleeping because I couldn't imagine being in standstill traffic with a screaming 6 week old. Anyway, I dropped off my mom and went to fill up at the gas station. After putting gas in, I went to open the van door and couldn't because all the doors were locked. My van did this once before for some reason but luckily I had been at the gas station a few houses down from my house so I ran to get the extra key. Well this time I couldn't do that. I ran into the gas station to let them know and they called the sheriff for me. I went back to the van to try and see if my 4 year old could unbuckle herself. She tried and couldn't get it so I decided we'd just have to wait till the sheriff got there. Meanwhile, the baby is screaming and mommy is getting anxious. Then A tells me she has to go potty and a few minutes later it turns into "Mommy I'm going to have an accident soon!" I told her to try to unbuckle herself again and this time.... she got it!!! Praise the Lord for allowing A to free her brother and sisters from the locked van! I hauled all 4 kids in quickly to use the restroom and then we headed home. As stressful as that all was, I just really didn't feel like putting in some hard work. I did it anyway despite my day. I think we can always come up with a good excuse not to exercise but the important thing is to push through those feelings and (in the words of Nike) "Just Do It!"

End of Week 2
Two weeks into this journey so far and I'm feeling good. I know I still have a long way before I reach my goal and knocking two weeks off really doesn't feel like much. I'm excited for tomorrow's weigh in because I've been peeking every day and can't wait to see what the final number will be. Also, I'm curious how next week will go. I can't imagine I can keep up these big numbers forever.
I stuck to my exercise routine all week and then for the weekend I'm taking those 60 min. and walking with the family pushing a stroller or holding a baby in a carrier for added work! Yesterday while the rest of the house was sleeping, I headed out with little E and went for a nice quiet walk. I had her in the baby bjorn. I love to look at houses when I'm out for a walk so I got to walk down a few streets I haven't been to before. I just love walking around town with the cars buzzing by.
I had my uncle's wedding reception to go to last night so I didn't eat too many calories beforehand. It's so hard for me to go somewhere where I can't figure out the calories. I just tried to be reasonable with what I ate. I had small pieces of the desserts but when I started getting that feeling like I wasn't enjoying it as much anymore I stopped. Who knows for sure if I stayed within my calories or not for yesterday but I don't feel like I pigged out so I'm pretty confident I did okay.
Now it's time to go burn some calories while sitting on my butt, aka nursing my baby!

Moderation
The best way that I can keep this weight loss journey up for a long time is by still enjoying the foods that I like but in moderation. For example, this past weekend I enjoyed some favorites like Kit Kat bars, Hershey's, Doritos and eating out at Panera Bread. I still stayed within my calories for the day and I got to enjoy some treats and as you can tell from Monday's weigh in indulging in those didn't affect my numbers. Tonight I'll be eating at Pizza Hut, yummy! I'm having two slices of cheese pan pizza. Here's what my menu looks like for today:
Breakfast-Oatmeal 130
Banana 105
Snack- Carrots 30
Lunch-Salad 30
Cheesy Rice & Broccoli 250
1 c. raspberries & strawberries 55
Snack- 1 c. strawberries 50
Peas & Carrots 60
Dinner- Salad 30
2 slices pizza 720
Plum 60
Snack-Apple & 1 T. peanut butter 185
3 c. popcorn

9/6 Weigh In Week 1
Loss for the week: 3.2 lbs
Starting weight: 208.4
Current weight: 205.2
I'm off to a good start since I'm hoping to lose about 1 1/2 lbs. per week so this definitely kickstarts it and keeps me motivated to achieve my goal. I know I've heard it takes a month to start a habit so hopefully in 3 more weeks this will get easier. This morning I woke up to storms and downpours and it affected my mood. I really didn't feel like working out today but I pressed on through those feelings and did it. I feel great having done it! Over the weekend, for my workouts I went on long walks with my family(usually a hour to an hour and a half) so that was my way of giving my body a little bit of a break from the week but still getting my hour of exercise in. It just so happened that the weather was great walking weather in my opinion. Today was back to 20 min. of elliptical and 2 20 min. denise austin videos.

A Few Of My Favorite Things
I have a few things that really help me out to get more for my calories. I love them because then I have more calories for other things I enjoy. Bread- Healthy Life 100% Whole Wheat Whole Grain Bread, this stuff has only 35 cal. per slice which I love because I enjoy lots of sandwiches and last time around I limited myself since my other bread was twice as many calories.
Drinks- Crystal Light, this is a great way to have something tasty to drink when I'm bored with just water. I like Pink Lemonade, Lemonade, and Raspberry Lemonade. There are only 5 cal. per 8 oz. glass so I don't even bother counting these calories into my daily limit because I really only have 2 or 3 glasses a day.
Salad Dressing-Kraft Free Zesty Italian Dressing, at 15 cal. per 2 tbsp. this is a great way to spice up a salad or toss on a bunch of veggies and steam them.
